of her hair condition

I have been trying to keep Arina's fringe to grow. I thought it'll be a nice change instead of just the usual fringe. So instead of cutting it now that it's long, I've been getting her and asking her to wear hairclips or headband to keep the hair back.

Of course she does it sometimes, but most of the time not. Especially when she goes to school. But now, after a few days at home and I noticed that she seldom have her hair clipped back and kept flipping her hair back almost every other time, she turned to me whilst we were watching tv together last night and said, " Mummy, I think I want to cut my hair here (pointing to her fringe) and this one long (while holding her ponytail)". :D

She must have gotten tired of having to push her hair back and out of her eyes. Oh well, I attempted but its still her hair hehe

We even contemplated the Dora's hairstyle once but I just love to see her long hair (when she was so into Dora then). Told Daddy-o to let us keep it long for now and wait til maybe when she's in primary school to cut it short short! We'll see then.. :D

another mini music concert

Arina had her 2nd concert for ymh's jmc class part 1 end of June, of which Daddy-0 couldnt attend. So these are some photos of her during her mini concert.
1st photo: she was getting ready to start
2nd photo: really trying hard to hit the notes right
3rd photo: the group playing various instruments
4th photo: she ran to me excitedly showing the choc the teacher gave at the end of the show

Now she is in the 2nd part of the course..and it is getting tougher..as in now she has to learn to play both left and right hand together. she is still trying to get the hang of it, controlling her left fingers whilst her right fingers playing the melody. On her first try, she got frustrated and started banging the piano notes, i had to tell the teacher to guide her because the more i try to show her the right way, the more angry she gets and the more harder she banged the piano.

Anyway, she's improving so far and can manage to play the music on her own. It might look simple to us but i guess for them, doing it for the first time can be quite daunting hehe i still remember my first few lessons at home, then later, when i got older, my mum sent me to this very 'garang' teacher who would hold a metal stick to guide our fingers/hand whilst playing the piano. Even daddy-o has a 'garang' one too i was told.

Right now, a parent has to attend the class with the child; up until probably when they finished part 4 if not mistaken. I cant wait for that too..but then again..i then may have to go through it again with the adik when it is her turn.. oh well..that's how it goes, isnt it?! And to think this is just one out of school activity so far ;)

Rolling over...

Ayska did her first ever roll over all by herself without any help on 27 July 2009, at 17 weeks old.

She was still struggling just a day before, almost there but still got one hand stuck under her tummy. Then, to her daddy's surprise, she was rolling over already. Daddy-o rang me at work, told me the great news and that he also snapped a few photos! :D

Her feeding pattern is now pretty much formula milk during the day plus one EBM and then fully BF at night. I do try to give her the formula sometimes at night, but she just refused. Probably about 1ml or 2ml the most.

But now, i was told she sometimes refused the EBM during the day. I still do think she's not comfortable with the teats. Must try some other ones too then. Some say orthodontic ones are good option too..Just that I havent the time to go to the baby shop and get it..Maybe I can try online later..

I am also looking forward to starting her on solids. She seemed to be so interested to see people eat! True! And she looks at food as if she's drooling over it.. I guess she is kinda ready.

So many things to look forward to.. even when people tell me, oh, its your second one therefore not much surprise there. But to me, going through it again still seem that we are experiencing it for the very first time, well the excitement is still very much as exciting as the first to me anyway.. :D
