In the car...

my darling little one does not want to be by herself at all. Be it the baby carseat, the real car seat itself nor standing or whatever way it is to sit in a car or any moving object for that matter i guess EXCEPT on someone's lap!!!

Now what do i do?

She refused to sit in the trolley at the supermarket.
She refused to sit in a carseat.
She refused to even sit in the moving car toy thingy when its moving. You know the one where you have to put some coins in when it will start moving with some kiddy tunes playing. Yes, that one.
She refused to sit in her stroller too!!

Now i cant go anywhere just the two of us. It must be with someone else in tow. Or rather someone's lap is needed whenever we get into the car. Even for a short teeny weeny drive. Not even a half a second probably..

This is my dilemma. I admit, mummy's own mistake. Didnt make it a point to use the infant carrier all the time when she was small and at the stage where she wouldnt know how to protest. We did use it but during the short drive here and there, the then-convenience of just holding her for a little while costs me this big problem i am facing right now.

I sure do hope that this is just a phase.

So everyone out there, safety first. Buckle up. Espeacially for the tiny little precious ones..

I wont stop trying but i sure do hope she'll pass this fear or whatever it is real quick. Without the stroller, my back is really taking its toll. Without the carseat, there wont be just-me-and-my-little-angel day out. Or daddy-o-and-little-angel day out. It will always be the-three-of-us or four until the day that car seat is ok for you, my little one... hmmm...

dilemma for all parents. if imtiyaz is not in his car seat ie. in grandma's car, he wouldn't sit still sampai whoever's holding him pening2 kepala... hahaha...

but if put into his car seat, thank goodness (until now) he doesn't object. maybe bcoz of my back pain i can't afford to hold him on my lap thus car seat & infant seat is used most of the time. but i dun know how long he'll sit in there without objection though...

stroller-wise : never stop!! hahaha... keep on moving so shopping with him alone has no meaning coz u can't stop to check out stuffs. n give him biscuits to keep him quiet, but the mess u can imagine la :P

your l'il girl?? get those car seat interactive toys ke if u havent tried. if dah try, let's just hope it's a phase. :)

Nina,

I know what you mean..hehe

Up till she was 1 yr 4 mons, she was ok with the stroller thingy not stopping.. i went through the same thing. Better dont stop rather than hear her making noise. So shopping for me then, like you was a big no no because i couldnt stop and look at all!! Tho things are no more better now bcos i now have to hold on to her most of the time. I would need someone else in tow to go shoppin.. Nak tinggal kan kat rumah, kesian pulak... (sigh)

what a dilemma kan.. ;)

as my sister puts it.. tinggal2 la anak kat umah mase gi jalan2.. sok dah tua anak plak tinggalkan ko (that's her jealous comment mase aku gi tgk midnite show @ tgv kekekeke)

me - so the very the guilty of not using car baby seat. she wails upon being placed in it. so end up on lap or sitting by herself. but u get this nervous driver-mum always checking out passenger-toddler at the back.

shopping-wise - @ her current age, she wants to be the one pushing the trolley - lagiiii seksa.. coz go at her pace.. prior to that, she did love sitting in the trolley seat - thing is by the time she maxed the weight limit 15kgs (which was a year back!)..i just didn't want to take that risk :)

ly-d,
trolley seat max weight = 15kg?? didn't know tht... hehe... i know those blue lie-on thingy for babies has limit - 9kg kot!! looks like imtiyaz would reach the trolley seat limit soon!! :P

yup.. blue cradle thingy limit is 9kgs..

reaching that limit will mean either u'll need someone to tag along to push the trolley while u take the baby.. or you end up buying less items as u already have one 'item' that is paid for :)

ly-d, Nina,

as much as you wanna do your shopping at ease, you still want them to be at least around you kan?? just trying to max up even the quantity, not just the quality time for me. The guilty feeling of, 'bila lagi nak bawak die keluar jalan2' is being used simultaneously as 'i need to go get ... things...' hehe. So off they go with you..

i too only now realised abt the trolley seat max weight. Thx lydee..hehe

Btw, my little girl still prefers the lap...*sigh*

Selamat Hari Raya to all!!!

The weaknesses in NEP are only two fold:

(1) failure to set and adhere to a deadline (so that malays knew that they have to work for self-betterment within a time frame and this would only benefit malay themselves and fellow Malaysians)

(2) weakness in execution as the benefits did not flow onto malays equally. That is why we can see a Dato spending much on divorce and marrying while many malays are still in poverty

I would say that certain malays are powerful and rich; emerging as the prime pillar of economic strength in Malaysia. Chinese businesses may be more numerous but they are mainly of smaller scale. The biggest companies in Malaysia are Petronas, Sime Darby, Telekonm, Tenaga, and I think most of them are controlled by malays.

Majority of the voters do not have access to a balanced media reporting channels to debate the cons and pros of the government. So long the BN buys votes with handouts and nice slogans, I think the majority ignorant voters can be swayed away from seeing the real issues.

I agree malays must adopt a "charitable culture". You already have the Zakat mechanism here but since when we hear rich malays donating and helping poor malays? If malay poverty is a national issue, patriotic and rich malays should assist their fellow Islam but I have not heard the likes of AP kings donating like what Bill Gates did.

But don't forget, we have poor Chinese, Indians, Kadazan, Orang Asli……….so poverty is race blind. We should help all poor people, not only poor malays, but poor Malaysians.

We have to move beyond Chinese vs. malay and all that crap. It is Malaysia vs. Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam etc, for economic survival.

They sound so stupid that only a true Umno pig could post them. I hope, for your own sake, that you are not an Umno pig type.

The Umno pig speaks of media credibility. Here is the million dollar question. What media credibility? All newspapers in Malaysia are government affiliated or owned. There are no real independent daily newspapers in Malaysia!

You want harmony in Malaysia……….then control the spread of radical Islamization and stem the march towards Arabism.

The greatest threat to Malaysia harmony, above and over racial tensions, is a majority group with no sense of identity (or a misplaced one). Controlling the Internet will only result in speeding up of stupidity.

Don't be angry. He minister just another asshole. He thinks he can control the Internet media. Huh! Even the US government can't! Morons will be morons! Pretty lame excuse to ensure racial harmony!

Anyway that is the only excuse they got. Answer this Umno moron, how can you promote for a free media where you have licensing board to control it? What kind of country that enforces Internet control? I know one which is the communists. So are you trying to tell us that we are communists? Why be afraid of the Internet if you have mentioned yourselves that it should not be treated as the main media?

Just because we are not allowed to talk about racial issues doesn't mean they are not there. The issues will always be there until we all grow up, our balls dropped and ovaries ripen and we address the problems in a mature way.

However, look at the way things are now. Our "universities" (I truly hesitate to call them that. I think "zoos" would be the more appropriate term, seeing how the dumbfuck at UPM act recently.) churn our graduates with shit for brains, making them follow the government blindly and useless for the workforce (just look at the number of unemployed local "zoos" graduates).

I find it "funny" and ironic that an Umno pig would open his mouth (snout?) and ask for a ban on the Internet to stop it from being used as a rumor mill when, if we look back to the history of Malaysia, Umno pig is the only party that has spread rumors that have led to bloodshed and racial genocide. Yes, I am talking about May 13.

Yes, Gerakan was wrong when it ran a rally that "insulted" the malays. But, Umno pig could have stopped the whole thing. Gerakan apologized profusely after the rally and the Umno pig could have just ignored them and not host a retaliatory rally of their own.

They could have been the bigger man, but they chose to be eviler pig. They started another rally, spread rumors that some malays were killed by Chinese, and the rest is history.

So to recap, how strange for the only party in Malaysia to cause bloodshed through rallies and rumors to ask for an end of rumors.

Mr Umno pig, are you sure you want to end rumors on the Internet? It has served your Umno pig party very very well in the past, giving you Umno pig control of this country and making you be are cronies rich. Think again. Sure you still want censor the Internet?

If malays are not happy in Penang, just leave and go to the more developed states like Kedah, Perlis, Sabah, where you will not be marginalised.

Gerakan, MCA who are reading this, just a simple advise: Leave BN now before you lose more voters.

50 years is enough. Vote DAP or any opposition in your constituency. We must not allow BN to fool us again. Down with BN and have a better future for all Malaysians.

(Opposition leaders and parties should keep quiet. Umno is doing the work for them.)

Smaller parties in BN will be severely punished in the next election for not standing up for their communities and parties interests, and for not taking proper care of the country. Their political survival could be leaving BN and run as independent party.

The malays are just too lazy even to analyze their own predicaments! After 49 years, they are still lamenting on not enough money in their pockets, and they are blaming the non-malays for this.

How further from the truth can this be? The malays should ask themselves how NEP has enriches a minority of malays, mostly the Umno politicians and their relatives and cronies.

That is where their money has gone to, so don't blame the non-malays who have sacrificed so much of their rights for the sake of the malays!

Most political parties are "unbreakable". They will find a scapegoat or common objective/target to unite the party at all costs to hold on to power.

Who cares whether a political party is breakable or unbreakable. They are only there to take care of their members and party interests first, not the ordinary people.

The ordinary people want to see the country and people properly taken care of, e.g. effective and efficient government departments, fair policies, good public facilities and social welfare, increase public safety and less crimes, no corruption and etc.

The Umno Youth act like crazy mobs same as their terrorist counterparts outside the country. They use the loophole in democracy which the little follow the many. Their member are not gullible but just plain evil and vile - they are just waiting for a chance to act.

These can be seen by the future generations in the UPM incidence. The UPM psychos are just the chips of the main Umno Youth block.

This week, I send of a cousin, a friend, a sister and two nephews to the airport who will never return to this country. They are all top graduates or students of top universities in UK and US, some with millions in their bank accounts. These news only convince them they are right and not to look back.

Just today I spoke to an old student of mine who has returned for a short holiday. I asked whether he has secured a PR in Australia and he said yes. I told him to serve there and stay there.

DAP, Gerakan and Keadilan may have to build Penang as a different country. That is the happening if your power is being threatened.

As long as Gerakan, MCA, MIC and other non-Umno in BN, they will never fight for our rights, the Umno say "yes" no one dare to say "not", how do we call it a partnership? Just like a dog following his master.

DAP and other champions of Malaysian rights, please do something about this and don't worry the next election, all the votes will go to you guys.

This is how idiots save themselves for the wrong things they firstly created. By putting blame of others then add more weight to their argument and cause - they think they would neutralise the troubles that is within their own party (Umno).

I tell you, we will end up having another May 13 for sure. Let us vote all of these idiots out if you are truly Malaysians.

I am just wondering how stupid these malays can be. Why are they not asking, after nearly 50 years for which 34 years of the NEP, all under malay prime minister and Umno but yet they can be marginalised and still poor!

Really idiotic thinking, they just don't ask themselves or their Umno leaders but blaming others.

Damn Umno, their denial syndrome, their extremism, their mentality, their self-righteousness. There is no greater curse than willful blindness and obscurantism.

Penang malays want more crutches. It is gimme, gimme, gimme. They do not know how to strive on their own but want handouts.

What about the Umno executive councilors! Were they sleeping all these years! It is the BN state government which is responsible for the state of the malays there. In any case, they will be blaming the chief minister even in 2200 and till eternity.

Umno had critical internal problems for decades. So far they had been able to divert their internal problems by using race and religion at all costs at the great expense of the country.

If one is confident, secure and strong, one do not need to resort to aggression, intimidation and threat to achieve one's objectives. These behaviors are strong signs of failures, insecurity and weaknesses.

Why are Umno Youth acting as if they can do whatever they like and not respect BN component parties and Umno which is the government?

Like in a family, if you don't set a good example for your children to follow, they will not respect you and they will rebel.

The national interests scarified and ordinary people are being used for narrow and selfish party interests for far too long.

This is a sick government. After so many scholarships and after so many years given to the malays, I am wonder why there is still no bright and smart Umno politician to lead Umno?

Anyway, don't want to sound racist but I think the NEP will never achieve its targets with the malays current mentality.
